The 2008 Pride Of Britain awards took place last night, with a whole host of celebrities showing up to hear the amazing and touching stories of the nominees and winners. We'll be able to share in the awe-inspiring tales of these Brits when the show airs on television tonight, at 8pm on ITV1. Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton giggled under their Union Jack-emblazoned umbrella as they arrived to present an award, and Cat Deeley and Rachel Stevens were among the other guests using the brollies on the red carpet.

Which Hair Colour Do You Prefer on Geri Halliwell? This weekend Geri Halliwell debuted a new dark hair colour as she signed copies of her latest childrens book at Harrods in London. The sleek brunette style is a big change from the baby blonde hair she has been sporting for a while now and, of course, Geri is still popularly known as Ginger Spice. Which hair colour do you think is the most flattering for Geri?

Did you know that Geri Halliwell is a children's book author? Neither did I, but this weekend she was promoting her kiddie novel and showing off a rich shade of brunette. It's a shift from the blonde locks she's had for at least a year.

Romeo Beckham aka Batman celebrated his sixth birthday yesterday, with a smattering of cute celebrity offspring among his guests. Mum Victoria led the caped crusader into his party at the Hard Rock Cafe, alongside his little brother Cruz who looked awesome (if a little grumpy) in a red Power Ranger costume. Gavin Rossdale left Gwen and new arrival Zuma at home, taking Kingston along to party it up with his friends.
Ex-Smash Hits and ex-Heat editor Mark Frith has seen a lot of celebrities do a lot of things. I think it's fair to say his experiences of famous folk would wow even the most jaded reader – for instance, before Take That were big, they'd go to the Smash Hits offices and make the team tea! (NB: If any new boybands want to come and make me tea, applications to the usual address...) Mark's managed to put all the highlights of his career into one tale-filled tome called The Celeb Diaries (out Sept 4), so I fired a few quick questions off to him about his experiences.
I was always one of the wear-long-hair-down brigade, and hated seeing girls with scrappy ponytails or messy buns. What was the point of having long hair, I reasoned, if you were always going to wear it up?
Well, that is a classic case of hair today, gone tomorrow.

London's Hyde Park turned into a party scene this afternoon as Nelson Mandela kept on celebrating his ninetieth birthday with a star-studded concert. Will and Jada were up and at 'em after last night's Elton John party to get on stage, while Geri Halliwell and Prince William's girlfriend, Kate Middleton, surveyed the scene. Amy Winehouse, who was looking unusually tan, managed to take the stage despite her recent health problems.
