Do You Use a Lipstick Case?

Lipstick cases have retro appeal, but would you carry one now? Bath & Body Works even sells a lipgloss case. Do these just add extra weight to your bag and an extra step to something that should be simple? Or do you love protecting your favorite product in a cute case?

Unless my lipstick tube is made out of 14K gold - I don't see a point in using a lipstick case.

I think these are glamorous. There's nothing worse than lipstick that got twisted up, mashed into the top! My favorite holders have the mirrors inside part of the cover.

Honestly I don't really get why people carry so much stuff in their bags. Mine consists of wallet (cash & ID), keys, makeup purse (lipstick or gloss in the holder, concealer and mascara), phone and mints.

    A long answer, but yes!

I don't see the point. I have a small case that holds powder and lip gloss/lipstick. Why bother with the excess?

I haven't had a lipstick all over the inside of my purse crisis, so I might consider it if that were the case, but short of that, I don't see the point.

I'm sure those lipstick cases will be in the sale bin soon. Seriously a lipstick case is kind of 80's and not in a good style rewind way.

The only person I know who carries one is my mom, she just likes that it has a mirror on it.

I don't wear lipstick all the time, just lip gloss and the only lipsticks I own are safely on my dresser and vanity so a case is kind of useless. But I'm not going to lie that case is really cute and I would debate getting it instead of immediately dismissing the idea.

This would just add extra bulk to my already bulging make-up bag I carry around... besides a compact and eyeliner I have at least 10 lip products in there, and when I noticed I was like ok this is getting ridiculous I don't need that many of them with me, so I tried taking some out. Couldn't decide which ones to leave behind tho, so they still come with me everywhere I go. lol.

No, but I do see the point in keeping it in a case when you're carrying it in an expensive bag.

You gotta be kidding me - I've used one forever, in fact I have several. I'd die without my lipstick case, I even have a double one and they're not that expensive unless they are leather and still affordable in my book. A must-have for me.

I don't use one but might consider it if only for the use of the mirror. My MAC Minerlize compact doesn't have a mirror so I really need one. But the case would have to be cute like the pink one above. I don't want to look outdated lol

I keep several lip things in my makeup bag inside my purse, so a case isn't really necessary and would just complicate things even more than usual.

Sometimes when I travel and have to choose only some products to take with me (instead of the whole, huge case), I use a lipstick case to store a cover stick. Why? Because it's the size of a lipstick and I need a tiny brush for it and the brush gets lost if I don't somehow attach it to the cover stick.

As a kid, I remember my grandmother had gorgeous ones..leather, with little mirrors. I always assumed then that when I grew up, I would use them as well.

There are a few advantages - and disadvantages, however.

1)Using one to protect a lipstick from a beating means it gets beat up instead. Depending on how much its worth, versus the lipstick...its defeating its own purpose.

2)Glamorous..to a point yes, but so is a plain Chanel case!

3)Most lipsticks/glosses are hardly standardized sizes, so what works for one thing, will not for another.

4)Takes more time to do something that you are trying to do "on the run" in the first place...

Saying all that, having ONE nice case for a particularly good evening product, and slipping that into a really schmexy evening bag, to pull out whilst in the upscale ladies' room of a really posh restaurant? I think that would be quite nice indeed.

I used to and sort of liked it when out to dinner, etc. But I got away from using it: too much fuss, too much time.
