A Quick Tip For Shiny Hair

Are you searching for fast and easy way to make your hair appear shinier and brighter? Here's a tip from New York City-based hairstylist Tina Cassidy, who tames the manes of famous faces like Liv Tyler. Her suggestion is to take an ice cube and quickly run it over the lengths and ends of your hair.

Apparently, the cold helps your cuticles relax, lie flat and ultimately gives your hair more brilliance. I’ve heard of rinsing your hair with cool water after you condition, but I much prefer this alternative. Nobody likes cold showers, even if it’s just for a few seconds. Who would have thought a solution could be this simple!

I heard something like this before... I was told to rinse my hair with cold water before drying it. I also heard rinsing your hair with vinegar makes it shiny, but I'm not sure how the hair would smell afterwards..

Oh, I'll have to try this! I still do a cold water rinse. I just tilt my head back into the steam of water and move the rest of my body out of the way when I turn the nozzle to cold. Luckily my shower is big enough to do this now

It's so hot here that I always take cooler showers. i think I would rather do that then take the time to rub ice cubes on my head. Although it does sound refreshing Smiling

I would've thought the moisture would make my hair frizz up a little. I'll have to try it anyway, see what happens.

I like cold showers in the summer, but I agree that they're terrible in the colder weather, even for a few seconds.

    I'll definitely try this tip!

Good to know. Although in the summer, I don't mind a cool blast in the shower before I get out. It definitely wakes me up too!

Hmmm interesting idea. I'll try it when day @ home when nobody is around otherwise they might think it's a bit weird that I'm taking ice cubes into the bathroom!

    BellaSugar:

You're LATE! Yes, I've been doing this one for a minute. Do this after you've deep condition your hair, however. You don't want to seal dryness into your cuticles. It also works better if you're doing a pororisty treatment.

I know it was already asked but do you do this when your hair is wet or dry? I feel like if I do it when it's dry... it'll frizz a bit after it dries from the cold water of the ice... it takes forever to straighten my hair so I'm scared to try this haha

Yes, but does it actually work. I hate getting a tip and having no one who tries it to know if it actually works. That should be done before it's posted.
