Bella Brand: Arcona

Some girlfriends and I were talking about skin care products over dinner, and one of them, who recently moved from Los Angeles, was cooing over the brand Arcona. She swears by the cranberry gommage, kiwi resurfacing peel and white tea daily face cleanser and credits her shiny, taught skin to being brand-loyal for the past year.

Another one of the girls has been using the products (based on her recommendation) for the past few weeks and her skin looks so revived, that I thought I'd research the brand myself. Hey, if my friends love it, and Lindsay Lohan does too — it must be fab!

Arcona was developed in Hollywood 19 years ago by a former chemist and holistic skin care practitioner. The 92 product-range is formulated with natural, cosmeceutical-grade ingredients containing high concentrations of antioxidants, vitamins, plant extracts, marine vegetables and essential oils that penetrate the deep layers of the skin. The ingredients are cold-pressed (key for keeping the nutrients active and effective), and are free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate and fragrance. The brand promotes a five-step program tailored to the needs of your skin.

I tried a sample of the peptide moisturizer and really liked the light smell. It's not too thick, not too milky, it absorbs into the skin well and it works great for day and night. I haven't tried anything else yet, but I can't wait for my next trip to LA to check out the studio. Are you interested in trying Arcona?

I'd need to know how much of a difference it really makes. I mean LL is what...21...so I mean you wouldn't be able to use that as evidence that it works wonders.

How about the mid 20's on up...

True story, brittanyk... her skin is awful! I guess even this brand's products can't help her smoker/ druggie skin... I'd be interested in trying it out, though -- all for natural ingredients.

They use Arcona at the International Orange Spa in SF. I've only bought a few things since they are so expensive but they really are amazing products.

I've been using arcona products for about 2 months and I love them. They really do make a difference on your skin. At first I didn't notice anything but after a couple of weeks I noticed my skin was a lot better. Also I went on vacation for a couple of days and decided to bring some samples of another line of skin care and my skin did not react well. When I got home, I went back to my arcona products and my skin is looking good again! Also, arcona products can be purchased on beauty.com as well as their website.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ARCONA! Been using the whole line for over a year, and I won't use anything else now! So excited to see it here on Bella! I can't even begin to describe how good this is, or how big of a fan I am. Lindsay Lohan would probably be the farthest away from a good spokes model, but other celebrities that uses it are Sarah Michelle Gellar(said in several interviews before she got a deal with Kiehl's), Diane Lane (same as SMG, only she is now under contract with Neutrogena), Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman (so said their make up artist on the Boleyn Girl). It's just that Arcona is a cult favorite, and they don't bother with paying people to front their brand, which is why you never hear about it. It's a little expensive, which is hard sometimes, but I spend a lot less money on make up these days because my skin is in much better condition. OK, I'll stop gushing now!

I would not use a skin product because Lilo swears by it... she doesn't have the best skin. Then again, if I was a coke-head/alchi I would probably have crappy skin too...

It sounds pretty nice...and I love that the products have no parabens or sodium lauryl sulfate. I don't use any cleansers or lotions that contain those ingredients anymore.
